Range #4

range 4Range #4 is a rifle range for benchrest shooting only!  The berms at 25 yrds and 50 yds are only for initial sighting in of your rifle to make sure it is on paper.  Final sighting in should be done on Range #1 at one of the closer berms.  The back berm on Range #4 is at 200 yrds and shooting at this range should be done only when you are confident that your rifle is properly sighted in, thus no rounds will leave Club property.  As previously range 4noted, all shooting must be done from the benchrest position.  By this it is meant that the rifle must be supported either by a stand or a bipod on the rifle.  It is not necessary that the rear stock be on a stand.

In the past, some shooters have been observed shooting from a proper benchrest position, only to stand up and fire a few rounds offhand.  If you want to shoot in any position other than the benchrest position, then use Range #1, the "position" range.  There you are welcome to shoot standing, sitting, prone or from the bench.

As a courtesy to benchrest shooters, Members are asked not to drive in front of Range #4, or to drive slowly so as not to generate any dust.  Cones usually block the entrance between the shotgun range and Range #4, but the drilling crews repeatedly move them and to not replace the cones when they leave.
