There are several software options for creating a pdf document, including the use of a scanner.  Anyone not wanting to buy a scanner has another option for creating a pdf and in many ways, it's far more useful and convenient.  There's a free software package named CutePDFwriter that imulates a printer.  Instead of printing a document or image, you click "print" and select CutePDF Writer instead of your default printer.  A popup box opens and then you select where you want to save the pdf file.  This comes in handy for many applications since it is always available regardless of the software you are using. 

Many PSC Members use this feature to create a pdf of their NRA informaiton from the NRA member website for uploading to the PSC Member database.  Below is a short tutorial video explaining how to download, install and use CutePDF Writer.
