PSC has added a Plate Rack to Range 2

You may only open the plate rack if you have a variance from the Pistol Director

We are going to start with a small group of members that have the variance to shoot the plate rack.

PSC Directors
PSC Match Directors
PSC NRA Certified Range Officers
PSC Members that were recommended by their Match Director
Other PSC Members that are known by the PSC Pistol Director to have the ability to shoot steel safely.

Those of you that seen steel shot at matches, know that it splatters.
We have set up the plate rack so that shooting from a safe distance will be natural.
If you have questions about splatter, take a look at the sacrificial boards during a cease fire.

This is already the rule but...
When the plate rack is being used

EVERYONE ON RANGE 2 MUST WEAR EYE PROTECTION.

When you use the plate rack, bring a can of white spray paint an give the plates a touch up paint job before you leave. If possible, leave the 1/2 can on the back side of the firing position. Put the empty cans in the trash.

If you don't have the confidence to insist that everyone is wearing eye protection, then don't ask for a variance.

PSC Members (and guests) may shoot the plate rack with Handguns in calibers that are allowed on Range 2.

Eye Protection

It's mandatory for everyone on or about range 2 when the plate rack is in use.

Treat it like you own it

The Plate rack belongs to PSC and as a member, it belongs to you. Treat it that way. If you notice any problems, fix them if you can, if you can't notify Tom Neal.

Stop Shooting

If someone shows up at range 2 without eye protection, stop shooting until they put on their glasses.

Use the range table next to the plate rack firing line.

If you're sharing the plate rack with other shooters, use the range table closest to plate rack firing line to stage your handguns. That way, no one has to walk behind you with an "unloaded" pistol.

Police your brass

Pickup your empties. Don't leave a mess at the range.

Lock up when you're done.

Just like the main gate, don't give out the combination.

A little history about this

A long time ago, PSC had a plate rack.
It was about where Range 2F is located now.
The Plate Rack got abused and was retired.

We are going to try again.

If this doesn't work out we will get out of the plate rack business for another 10 years.

See you at the range
